Entangled Doorways

For 3 days Queer Futures Writing Lab took up residency in a Berlin apartment. We spent the weekend exploring domesticity and belonging, using daily routines as a starting material to devise scores and meditations, which we composed into a durational performance.

On the final day, we opened the apartment between certain hours, inviting visitors into our strange domestic environment. When a guest rang the doorbell, we stopped our activities and gathered for a communal diceroll which determined how the newly arriving guest would be guided through the complicated apartment building. A staircase choir, messages lowered in a basket, museum tour guide, surprise parties, all became part of a very random, unpredictable immersive theatre experience.
