An opening in the Artscience department for a new interim Head of Department sets me on a new course: to become the first student director.
Questions I had:
- How seriously should I take this application? Will I even be considered as a serious applicant?
- Is it better to propose somethingradical as a provocation or something realistic?
- Do I really want this job or just the idea?
- Do we really need a head of department?
- What would it look like to run the department autonomously and bottom up?
With one week until the deadline, I frantically set about getting the advice I need to take on this role.
